Everyone has difficult days. There are small things you can try to help protect your mental wellbeing, and there are people you can talk to if you need support.

Things that may help your wellbeing

Different things work for different people. You could try:

  • talking to someone you trust about how you are feeling
  • keeping a routine where possible
  • getting outside or moving your body in a way that feels manageable
  • eating regularly and drinking enough water
  • getting enough rest and sleep
  • making time for relaxing activities
  • staying connected with family, friends or support groups
  • asking for help early if things feel difficult

Support for children and young people

Children and young people may need different support with their mental health and wellbeing.

Meic is a helpline service for children and young people up to the age of 25 in Wales. It is open from 8am to midnight, 7 days a week. You can contact Meic by phone, text or online chat.
