Supporting parents, supporting babies
Becoming a parent is a big life change. It can bring joy, but also moments of stress, tiredness or low mood. This is completely normal.
The Parent and Infant Wellbeing Group is here to support you and your baby through those early months.
What is it?
This is a free 6-week programme designed to:
- support parent and infant bonding
- promote emotional wellbeing
- build social connections with other parents
The group has been developed by psychologists and is delivered by Early Years Professionals from your local community.
Who is it for?
- Parents and caregivers with babies who are not yet crawling
- Mums and dads are welcome
- You can attend together or separately
Weeks 1 to 3
- Explore the emotional ups and downs of early parenthood
- Build confidence and self-compassion
- Learn calming techniques, such as breathing, movement and sensory grounding
- Discover how your emotions and your baby’s emotions are connected
Weeks 4 to 6
- Practice gentle mental and emotional tools, such as mindful thinking and self-compassion
- Learn how to help your baby feel safe and calm through bonding and co-regulation
- Reflect on your parenting journey and celebrate progress
- Explore ways to maintain wellbeing and connect with supportive communities
