Who the Accessible Information Standard helps

The Accessible Information Standard supports people who are:

• Deaf or hard of hearing
• Blind or partially sighted
• Deafblind
• Living with dementia or other communication needs
• Using a different first language

What we will do

We follow 5 key steps to make sure your needs are met:

• Ask if you have any communication or information needs
• Record your needs clearly in your medical record
• Alert staff so everyone involved in your care is aware
• Share information with other services when needed, with your consent
• Act to meet your identified needs

Information formats and support

We can provide information in a range of formats, including large print, Easy Read, Braille, email or by phone.

Interpreters can also be arranged where required.
